More The Gardeners Albums

Recorded live in the Yellow Cover Tour, THE GARDENERS STILL LIVE is the registration of a part of the show presented during this tour. The recordings were made during the concerts realized at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Superdome in Sydney, Stade de France in Paris and Amsterdam Sports Arena in Amsterdam between October, 2005 and July, 2006. The same recordings were used for the release of a video with images of these respective concerts (to United Kingdom it was made a special version with images done in Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Cardiff and London). THE GARDENERS STILL LIVE contains songs of the 4 albums previous of the band and it also presents 3 bonus tracks: the unpublished 'Drugs and Drinks' and 'Unknown Territory' by Morgan and Stevens and a cover of 'Rape Me' by Nirvana. As it is an one disc only many songs included in the set-list were not selected with larger attention for the absences of the acoustic version of 'Three Princesses on the Heaven' and of 'Singin' Stopless' entrusted of ending the presentations. In spite of this other prominence songs were included as the initials 'Flying High', 'Black Hell' and 'Migraine Boy', the hit 'The Man of Yellow Cover' and provocative 'Orgasm'. All they demonstrate the Welwyn Garden Citys boys empathy with the public and that the group had not just produced a great studio album as would made a spectacular world tour. In general there is not a lot of difference among the original versions and the one that it is presented at the stage, in 'The Mission' only fits a blank for a prolonged guitar solo from Gregor Stevens. Not even 'Rape Me', that would become the main-song of the disc, presents significant changes in relation to the original recorded by the Nirvana in the CD In Utero. Although the wasted opportunity to show new facets of their hits can be considered a small fall down what in fact it harmed THE GARDENERS STILL LIVE went a troubled phase that the band crossed after tour end that originated it. The relationship crisis detonated before even of this disc release by Mike Gradas's exit and the band-manager Chris Bodans arrest tumultuated the course of the work completely doing with that the CD dont achieved 2 million sold copies. There was a certain frustration. The greatness expressed during tour didn't repeat in this live disc and The Gardeners began to live a new phase.
